BOARD OF DIRECTORS 

Marian Lawrence: Chair

Marian Lawrence has been involved with the Denver Housing Authority since 2006, serving as President of a Resident Council for nearly two years, prior to her appointment to the DHA Board of Commissioners in 2009.

 

A retired Probation Officer from Denver County, she has extensive experience with various community agencies and organizations and has been instrumental in the development and implementation of programs which enhance the lives of specific populations.

Renee Nicolosi: Secretary

As the Director of Resident & Community Services for the Denver Housing Authority, Renée Nicolosi has overseen programming for low– and moderate-income families in the areas of aging-in place, economic self-sufficiency, and resident leadership for twenty years. She has been integral in the design, implementation, and oversight of awarding winning programs.  Many of these programs have been nationally recognized for innovative and effective services for the aging and disabled, at-risk youth, and families working toward economic self-sufficiency.  

  

These programs encourage and empower residents to take an active role in making their communities safe and vibrant.

Nicole Adante

Nicole Adante is a graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Gerontology. Nicole has completed over 15,000 volunteer service hours with AmeriCorp, the bulk of which were serving as a Wildland Firefighter.

 

Since 2008, Nicole has worked directly with the older adult population in Denver, CO. She has been the Director of Social Services at SAVA, the Senior Companion Program Manager for Innovage, and is currently the Business Development Liaison for the InnovAge PACE Program

Nicole Adante

Nicole Adante is a graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Gerontology. Nicole has completed over 15,000 volunteer service hours with AmeriCorp, the bulk of which were serving as a Wildland Firefighter.

Perla Gheiler

Perla Gheiler is the Director of the Office of Aging for the City and County of Denver. Perla has over 20 years of marketing experience working with diverse demographic markets across the country.

Perla has been involved with the Board of Directors for the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Metropolitan State University of Denver, Mi Casa, Cystic Fibrosis, Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce, Audubon Board, Adoption Exchange, and LAEF. Perla graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a BA in Communications.

Ismael Guerrero: DHA Executive Director

Ismael Guerrero has served as Executive Director of the Denver Housing Authority since June 2007.  Under his leadership, DHA has undertaken an ambitious plan to transform public housing in Denver, creating vibrant, sustainable, mixed-income communities of choice.

 

Ismael was born and raised in Chicago where he earned an engineering degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the University of Chicago. In 2014 Ismael Guerrero was recognized by the White House as a Champion of Change in Solar Deployment.

Dan Villanueva: Treasurer

Dan Villanueva makes his home in Denver, Colorado, where he helps his clients buy and sell residential real estate. After many years of financial analysis experience in the financial industry, Dan entered the real estate business and owns an independent real estate company, Volante Realty.

 

Dan is a passionate market-savvy professional skilled in planning, marketing, negotiation and product sales for real estate transactions and helping his clients reach their specific goals.

Amy Fidelis 

Amy Fidelis, Deputy Director of Marketing and Communications for Denver Human Services, supported Denver Housing Authority's work through financial education and donation drives prior to joining the board. Her previous professional experience includes work in the nonprofit, financial services, and public education sectors. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Denver and speaks Spanish and Portuguese.

Amy also has a black best in process improvement from the City and County of Denver's Peak Academy. 

Emily Silverman

Emily Silverman is working with cities across the United States to improve the lives of their residents through making their cities smarter through innovation and technology at Parsons Corporation. She leads projects in the built environment around data flow, transformation, aggregation and visualization; advanced mobility; connected vehicles; bridging the digital divide and community engagement. Ms. Silverman has expertise in human-centered design, user-story development, project planning and deployment, metrics development and evaluation and developing collaboration between stakeholders.

Tracy Treece

Tracy Treece serves as the Digital Inclusion Manager with the Denver Public Library. She has been teaching technology at libraries for over a decade. Tracy makes Denver Public Library Internet resources accessible to all customers through developing special web-based tools and facilitating technology classes for adults and children in communities throughout Denver.

Tracy has presented on technology in communities at the Public Library Association National Conference, Computers in Libraries National Conference, and ReSchool Colorado Conference.
